"Scotia Village is a great place to call home."
- Clint Willis

SAILL
(Saint Andrews Institute for Life Long Learning) This program is offered each semester by Saint Andrews Presbyterian College, whose campus immediately adjoins the campus of Scotia Village. The SAILL program of lifelong learning allows our residents to register for a wide range of class offerings. Class subjects include: literature, philosophy, swimming, history, astronomy, religious studies and much more. The SAILL program promotes brain health by engaging in the process of learning new things.
Intergenerational Quiz Bowl
This knowledge-based competition pits teams against each other in a battle of brain power. Played both intramuraly and against outside competition, the jeopardy-style game is a fun and competitive way for our residents to keep their brains fresh and ready.
DAKIM BrainFitness
The DAKIM BrainFitness program is a computer-based system that provides our residents a fun and ever-changing way to challenge their memory, cognitive skills and logic. Through games, puzzles and riddles, DAKIM BrainFitness is a wonderful way to maintain or build brain acuity.
Two of the scariest words facing senior citizens today are Alzheimer’s and dementia. Every 72 seconds another person is diagnosed. Though a growing problem, dementia is not an inevitable consequence of aging. There are things you can do reduce the risk. At Scotia Village our residents are able to engage in many activities that keep the brain fit, healthy and active – either defying or delaying cognitive decline.
