Art Sale at Scotia Village a Big Success – 3/2/2010

On Friday, February 19, 2010 Scotia Village invited artists from the Scotland County area to take part in a Winter Art Sale. The event took place on the campus of Scotia Village and was open to both residents and invited guests. Over 60 guests and 40 residents participated in the festivities. Guests came from Laurinburg, Laurel Hill, Maxton, Bennettsville, McColl, Rockingham, and Hamlet.

Residents and guests alike enjoyed browsing art by local artists Marilyn Petersen, Connie Dawes, Dora Sharber, Nancy Sandgren and Olivia Brown. Art by Design was also on hand as well as two artists from UNCP, Adam Walls and Jules Floss. On display were paintings, pottery, sculpture, stained glass, jewelry and more. Sylvia McLean, Scotia Village’s Director of Sales was amazed "at the level of skill our local artists have. We are so fortunate to be able to have so many talented artists right here in Scotland County."
