The Presbyterian Homes, Inc, (PHI) is committed to providing the residents of its three communities a wellness program that is comprehensive, multi-faceted, and effective. To that end, the enCompass wellness program was developed and made available to the residents of Scotia Village and the two other PHI communities.
The power of this program to affect lives in a positive way has prompted one individual to providing a matching donation of $250,000 to further the cause of the enCompass program. Each community will help in the raising of the $250,000 needed to obtain the donation. So far the residents of Scotia Village have raised more than $80,000, and that number continues to grow. At the same time, plans are being made on how best to appropriate the money. A committee made up of both staff and residents has been assembled and a wish list is forming. Ellen Sims, Wellness Director, believes that "This is a great opportunity to obtain equipment and provide new services within the scope of the enCompass program. I am really excited about what this new money means for our program and our residents."
Executive Director Clarell Litchford is very pleased with the way the residents have responded. "We have the best residents and they continue to amaze me with their ability to respond to a great cause. These new funds will benefit everybody in the Scotia Village family."
